Meg Rose Has Taken Over As Board Chair Of Junior Achievement of North Florida

Junior Achievement of North Florida welcomes Meg Rose as its new chair of the board of directors. Rose will serve in the position for a term of two years which began on July 1, 2022, and will run through June 30, 2024. Rose joined the JA of North Florida board of directors in August of 2018 and served on the executive committee as secretary from 2020 to 2022. She also served as the chair for the nonprofit’s 2021 $mart Women Make Change event, an annual fundraiser to support the JA Girl$ initiative.

“The passion of the folks who I serve with on the board and those in JA is truly contagious and it is an honor to be associated with all of them and an honor to be serving in this leadership role,” said Rose. “What attracted me to the JA board was the ability to be able to help the students of north Florida with gaining knowledge in the financial literacy arena. Starting with a base of knowledge in this area regardless of economic upbringing or background can be such a solid foundation for future success.”

Rose is the senior vice president of field operations for Firehouse Subs of America, LLC where she oversees operations and compliance for the 1225-unit restaurant chain. Rose joined the company in 2007 and has also served as a franchise business manager and director of company operations. Rose attended the University of Rhode Island and earned a Certified Franchise Executive designation from the International Franchise Association. She began her career in the restaurant industry while in college and worked her way up through management at TGI Fridays, Chi Chi’s, and Applebee’s where she served as regional director of operations and helped grow a franchise from one restaurant to more than 60.

Rose has a passion for serving others and in 2011 she received the Culture Award for her work on behalf of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. In 2015, she was named one of Jacksonville Business Journal’s Women of Influence and was a member of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2017. Rose has served as the co-chair for the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Golf Tournament which has raised nearly $1 million over the last two years. In addition to her role on JA of North Florida’s board, Rose also serves on the board of directors for Angelwood and the Jacksonville Women’s Network.

“We are lucky to have Meg in this leadership role to help guide us as we implement our new strategic plan and scale our impact in the region,” said Shannon Italia, president of JA of North Florida. “I look forward to working closely with her and the rest of the board as we equip Jacksonville's next generation with the skills they need for a choice-filled future.”
