Junior Achievement of North Florida received a grant of $33,600 from the Arby’s Foundation to help fund work readiness programs.
In addition, Arby’s Foundation volunteers went to Westside High School recently, where they taught two sessions of the JA Career Success program. Students in four classrooms learned communication, conflict resolution and team-building skills for their future employment.
The JA Work$ and JA Girl$ programs both teach work readiness and financial literacy. The programs also teach skills in entrepreneurship and help students understand how education impacts their future success. JA Work$ is for high-school students of all genders while JA Girl$ teaches the same skills in an all-girl setting.
