Junior Achievement of North Florida has promoted Tiffany Guthrie to VP, Programs and Partnerships
Junior Achievement of North Florida is pleased to announce Tiffany Guthrie has been promoted to Vice President, Programs and Partnerships. Guthrie has been with the nonprofit organization since January of 2014 and has worked in a variety of roles. She most recently served as the director of development. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading a team to implement and expand JA programs on the First Coast. She will direct volunteer recruiting, training and program management and will monitor the programs to ensure quality outcomes. She will be responsible for key corporate relationships and will serve as the primary liaison to the board for topics related to programs and education.

She has loyally, passionately, and capably contributed to JA’s mission for many years and has such an enthusiasm for our mission to help young people prepare for the future,” said Shannon Italia, president of JA of North Florida. “Tiffany will be actively representing JA in the region to assure our position as a thought leader in the education community. I look forward to working closely with her and our board to develop and implement strategies for improved learning outcomes, financial stability, and organizational growth.”
Guthrie has more than 20 years of experience in youth development. She was JA of North Florida’s VP of Programs from January 2014 to July 2018 when she moved into the director of development position where she led fundraising efforts for the nonprofit. The director of development duties will now be the responsibility of a group consisting of Guthrie, Italia and the operations and fundraising manager.
JA of North Florida has received several national recognitions as a direct result of Guthrie’s leadership over the years including The Hartford 2016 JA Company Communities with Hart Stag Award, the Chick-Fil-A True Inspiration Award and the Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Award.
Prior to joining JA of North Florida, Guthrie worked for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office as the program manager for the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville where she was responsible for managing, supervising and directing the organizations day to day operations. She worked on several special event committees and was recognized in 2008 by then-Sheriff John Rutherford for coordinating a week-long youth program for the 2008 FBI NAA Conference held in Jacksonville. She was honored in 2009 and 2012 as the Civilian of the Month for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and received the Golden PAL award from the Police Athletic League.
Guthrie earned her master’s degree in education leadership and her bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of North Florida. She also received a certification in nonprofit management from UNF and was a recipient of UNF’s Nina Waters Nonprofit Leadership Endowment Scholarship. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor of resource development at UNF. Guthrie has completed the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Evolution, Bank of America Excellence and Leadership Program, and the DISC Values Foundation series through the JSO Leadership Development Institute.
Guthrie serves as a committee member on JA USA’s national evaluation and work and career readiness group. She has also been identified as a high-potential associate and participant in the JA Leadership Academy. In addition to her work, Guthrie also gives back to the community by serving on committees for the First Coast Girls Initiative, Guns ‘n Hoses, and Kids Hope Alliance.
