Junior Achievement Welcomes New Board Members

Junior Achievement of North Florida (JANFL) proudly introduces three highly accomplished professionals on its Board of Directors. With their diverse expertise and commitment to empowering the youth of North Florida, these individuals are set to play a pivotal role in elevating the organization. The new board members joining are Inyam Griggs, Surveillance Manager at Macquarie Group, and Joey Janssen, President at Two Twelve Benefits. Jeff Machols, SVP at Voya Financial and JANFL member since 2017, was elected Board Chair.

Shannon Italia, President of JANFL, expressed her enthusiasm for these additions, saying, "Their invaluable expertise and dedication for our mission will enrich our organization's initiatives. We look forward to their contributions and guidance as we continue to equip the youth of North Florida with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the modern world."

Inyam Griggs, a Jacksonville native, has a desire to support early success and continual learning for students. With decades of volunteer and leadership experience, she firmly believes children of all ages should have fair access to mentorship and developmental tools. Her impressive track record, combined with her passion for youth development, makes her an invaluable addition to the Junior Achievement of North Florida team.

Joey Janssen is a strong proponent for financial literacy, with his background in healthcare and finance. As a kid, Janssen learned the value of hard work, and believes that children who participate in Junior Achievement programs have a head start in terms of financial knowledge and an understanding of a changing global economy.

Jeff Machols was a long-time board member of JANFL before he was elected to Board Chair. His leadership and commitment to developing people and high-performance teams have been key during his professional career. Since 2017, Jeff has led Voya’s Continuous Improvement Center. He has provided coaching, mentoring, change management leadership and guidance across the company to help employees engage and adopt the Continuous Improvement methodology. Jeff’s leadership and commitment to developing people and high-performance teams have been key to driving Voya’s cultural transformation.

“I am honored to be elected as Board Chair, and also excited to celebrate the joining of two new members,” said Jeff Machols, Board Chair of JANFL. “Together, we will undoubtedly enhance JA’s mission, empowering the youth of North Florida for confidence in career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.”
