Junior Achievement of North Florida Joins the Global #GivingTuesdayNow Movement in Response to COVID-19
Jacksonville, Fla., April 29, 2020 – Junior Achievement of North Florida has joined the #GivingTuesdayNow movement set for May 5, 2020. The nonprofit organization is asking the community to join them by contributing on this day to help inspire tomorrows. The global day of unity strives to harness the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations in the emergency response effort to help communities and nonprofits who have been impacted.
“Junior Achievement helps young people create successful futures by giving them the skills and knowledge to be successful in the world of work,” said Steve St. Amand, president of JA of North Florida. “With COVID-19, we are now providing our programs online and ask the community to support our mission by going to janfl.org and making a donation on May 5. We are asking individuals, local businesses and our corporate friends to help us reach our goal to provide access to JA programs to hundreds of more students. Any level of support you can give is greatly appreciated.”
Donations of $25 will help to bring JA programs to one student, $50 will support two students and a donation of $100 will help sponsor four students. With the goal of $10,000 in donations on Giving Tuesday Now approximately 400 students could benefit from the JA programs.
To donate, visit janfl.org and click on the donate now button. Donations can also be received by mail at 4049 Woodcock Drive, Suite 200, Jacksonville FL 32207. JA of North Florida’s Tomorrows Relief Fund will continue through the end of 2020.
