Fletcher High School Dominates the 2024 JA Stock Market Challenge, Advances to National Competition Future Bound

The journey to financial literacy and investment mastery began in the classroom for over 1,000 Jacksonville students as they participated in Junior Achievement of North Florida’s JA Take Stock in Your Future program. With guidance from dedicated volunteers from the finance community, students explored the fundamentals of the stock market in preparation for the highly anticipated JA Stock Market Challenge. This hands-on educational experience culminated in an exhilarating competition at EverBank Stadium’s Gallagher Suites on December 11, 2024, for the top 45 teams comprised of 169 students.

After an intense morning of simulated trading, two teams from Fletcher High School emerged victorious. The Rizzler Glizzys clinched first place, earning the coveted Bull & Bear Trophy along with Regions beach cruiser bikes, while the Fletcher Financiers secured second place. Their triumph was officially celebrated on February 20, 2025, when the winning teams were presented with their trophies, which will remain on display at their school for the year.

With their first and second-place victories, both teams have earned a prestigious opportunity to compete on a national stage. The Rizzler Glizzys and Fletcher Financiers will represent Duval County Public Schools at JA Future Bound, a national conference where top-performing students from across the country will put their investment skills to the test. This elite competition is set to take place from June 9-11, 2025, providing an extraordinary platform for students to showcase their financial acumen and compete for national recognition.

At the nationwide competition, students will have the unique opportunity to stay on the Georgia State University campus. They will participate in career readiness workshops, engage in networking sessions with fellow JA students from across the U.S., and connect with mentors who can offer insight into future career paths. This experience opens doors to valuable opportunities and helps equip students with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their academic and professional journeys.
